What Is The Challenge?

Are you looking to lose weight, build muscle, meet new people or pick up a new skill? This 6 week challenge is a beginner friendly course with a focus on fitness, fun, and of course, Muay Thai! You'll be challenged to improve your body through fun and engaging Muay Thai training, along with some conventional training as well. There are also prizes based on your success, which is measured by way of comparison testing before and after the challenge, as well as weekly challenges to keep you on your toes!

What Do I Get Out Of It?

So what exactly are you signing up for? You'll get access to five exclusively ladies only training sessions each week run by Coach Naomi. These sessions will form the basis of your challenge, and will also be supplemented with additional weekly challenges and optional extra activites which will all contribute towards the winner of the prizes. You will also be guided through high quality fitness testing in order to provide you with concrete evidence of your physical improvements over the course of the challenge. This means you'll be able to see proof that you've gotten stronger and slimmer! Furthermore, you'll also get access to optional nutritional information to give you that extra boost in staying energised and losing weight. Most importantly of all though, you'll receive expert instruction in the highly exciting art of Muay Thai, a world renowned striking art. Keep reading to learn more about Muay Thai!

What Is Muay Thai?

So you might be wondering, what exactly is Muay Thai?

Muay Thai is a striking art that involves using punches, kicks, elbows and knees! Naturally with a sport that requires you to use every part of your body, it is safe to say that Muay Thai provides a full body workout.

Now, just because you're striking, doesn't mean you're going to get hit or be hitting other people. Muay Thai is practiced in a safe and welcoming environment using pads and hanging bags to allow you to hit it out without hitting each other. Sparring is a completely optional activity that is still heavily controlled, but allows you to test out your techniques with another person!

Muay Thai is hard to master, but easy to get started in, and with this six week challenge, you'll be getting the hang of the basics in no time!

Who Can Join This Challenge?

Any woman age 16+

This is challenge is open to any woman 16+, regardless of experience or fitness level. Just note that anyone under the age of 18 will need parent/guardian permission to participate in the challenge.

Do I Need Prior Fitness, Experience Or Equipment?

No for all! Absolute beginners are welcome and equipment is provided!

A common misconception with Muay Thai is that you need to be fit before you start, however the whole point of this challenge is to get you fit with Muay Thai! You will be given your own pair of gloves to keep, and everything else will be provided.

Is Muay Thai Safe?

Training Muay Thai is super safe, and the chance for injury is much lower than you think!

Whilst you may think of martial arts as dangerous, that really only applies to competition martial arts. In the same way that you can go for a swim without having to enter a race, you can train Muay Thai without any intention of ever having a fight. In fact, only a small percentage of people who train Muay Thai ever go on to actually do it competitively. Training Muay Thai mainly consists of hitting pads and heavy bags, with a big focus on technique!
